Frequently Asked Questions
1. What inspired you to start writing?
Writing is my therapy. Fifteen years of depression messes with your head a bit, and it made me daydream—a lot. People call it escapism, but I call it processing emotions you can’t show out loud.
Those daydreams turned into full stories, with sequels and fully developed characters. So, I tried writing them down... And once I started, I couldn’t stop. I finally found something I truly love and feel the need to keep doing.
And honestly, if I can survive by sharing my daydreams with the world, why not?
2. Are the characters based on real people?
I hope not. I actively avoided copying anyone from my real life. If my subconscious decided to do its thing—well, I can’t help that.
Each character is a small, unhinged piece of my own psyche. It’s a little fragmented, as you’ve probably noticed. There are a lot of voices fighting for first place in my head, so by writing them down, I sorted them out a bit. Gave them names.
They all carry a little piece of my trauma. And yes, I’m marinating them in suffering. Builds personality.
3. What’s your life like outside of writing?
Pretty shitty… okay, not that bad. Basic, really. I work in school administration, despite my degree being in media. Close enough, right? The kids like me for some reason (Hell knows why).
I’m a pretty handy and artsy person, but lately, I’ve been hyperfocused on writing. When I get home from work, I write, edit, handle PR and marketing (and try my luck on TikTok), then switch gears to work on my master’s in cybersecurity. Yeah, I know... I’m all over the place.
My happy place, though, is my little cave: my bedroom. Computer on, blanket fortress ready, Chiko in my lap, a warm drink in hand, and music blasting. Perfect.
